What is MCDJFS Summer Youth Program?

The MCDJFS Summer Youth Program will provide summer employment and training opportunities for low income youth of Montgomery County.

The goal of the program is to assist youth to develop fundamental life skills for managing their personal growth, interpersonal relationships and career development.

The Summer Youth Program will follow eligibility criteria under the Montgomery County Prevention, Retention, and Contingency Program (PRC)  Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). This is based on gross monthly income and household size.

Who can be served?

Montgomery County Youth 14-17 years of age. The Family assistance group must be determined eligible for PRC/TANF.

Why would Youth be interested?

The program allows youth to improve in life skills management, job readiness skills and provides employment opportunities.

Where are we located?

The program will be operated thru the Job Center for the occupational skills enrichment and application. Employment opportunities will occur in various locations throughout Montgomery County.

How do I apply?

We will begin taking names for our waiting list February 1, 2011
