Summer On-The-Job Training for TeensEconomically disadvantaged youth, ages 14 to 17 years old, are encouraged to participate in the Summer Youthworks Program offered by the Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services. This program gives teenagers the opportunity to get on-the-job training in a wide variety of entry-level jobs during the summer months including retail establishments, local businesses, hospitals, non-profit and government agencies. Youthworks allows young people, whose families meet the income eligibility requirements, the chance to improve life management and job readiness skills while providing summer employment. The deadline to register is Friday, March 16, 2012. Young adults interested in the Summer Youthworks Program can learn more by calling 224-1482. |
